Dropped By Record Label
Publicly, the news that Jennifer Lopez had been dropped by her Sony-owned record label Epic, was met with a statement from J-Lo’s manager, who insisted, “The time was right to make a change that best serves the direction of her career as an actress and recording artist.” But privately, sources say the 40-year-old was left reeling as she saw her seventh album, Love?, cancelled due to dire reception to all her singles.“Sony Music execs aren’t sure who her audience is anymore,” spilled an industry insider. “She’s been supplanted by Beyonce, GaGa and Rihanna.” Adding, “Lots of fighting is going on between [her manager] Benny Medina, who is spending their money like it’s 10 years ago, and the label.”

Movie Pushed Back
Adding insult to injury, Jennifer’s latest movie, The Back-Up Plan has seen its release date pushed back to April 23 – a sure sign in Hollywood that there are problems with the flick.And the studio has demanded that a new trailer for the film be released, so that it can better compete with Jennifer Aniston’s movie, The Baster, which is also about a single woman desperate to get pregnant.

Resorted To TV Cameos
The actress who once commanded Dhs54 million-a-movie and wowed critics with her earlier films such as Selena and the George Clooney-starring Out Of Sight, has now been reduced to popping up in cameo roles on TV to maintain her profile.“She performed her comeback material on TV shows ranging from So You Think You Can Dance? to New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,” spilled a source. “Now her album’s been scrapped she’s doing a scripted-show guest-star tour, including everything from a cafeteria lady on Glee to How I Met Your Mother.”
